Hmmm... yes, that is a cause for concern. Our civil liberties should always be protected.

In Utah, the Governor officially declared that no one shall be cited or detained for breaking rules pertaining to the virus.

Don't even think they can't suspend habeas corpus. There is already precedent. Lincoln did it in the war of northern aggression.

As for that, and the rest of it, we should never allow it to happen.

There are now several other sources with this information. It is no longer just a Rolling Stone event.

I'm not going to overreact and politicize these issues. If people are running rampant infected with the coronavirus the government should be able to restrain them. So you can take that for what it's worth

Libertarian principles tend to break down when it comes to public health issues. Our friend Rancho used to like to point that out.

And who is going to determine who is running rampant and how are they going to determine that? It is not a simple matter and it is not a law enforcement issue.

I think that maybe the government ought to be rounding up all the drug addicts and alcoholics, restrain them before they kill any more people while driving down the road. Won't be many of us left if the government is allowed to lock up dangerous people, like democrats or republicans or Jews!

The State Attorney General in my state has issued an order allowing all law enforcement agencies in the state the power of fining and arrest if necessary for anyone violating any of the prohibitions set out by the State Health Department.

Interesting. I found a link HERE.

I wonder where the state attorney general gets the power to makeup law as he goes along..........

We asked what are essential services. Just what carrying batteries and chargers for RC cars meet that description. We'll hang around until the mall throws us out.

And I find this just a little creepy. We need more info I guess.

The DOJ and HHS also recovered 598,000 medical-grade gloves and hundreds of surgical masks and gowns, disinfectant towels, particulate filters and bottles of hand sanitizer.
The HHS said in the release it will pay the owner of the supplies pre-COVID-19 fair market value and that it has already started distributing them to hard-hit places like New York.
