    trump's folly

    From this morning's WSJ:

    Updated April 13, 2019 9:58 a.m. ET

SEOUL—North Korean leader Kim Jong Un gave the U.S. until the year’s end to break a deadlock in stalled nuclear talks, Pyongyang state media reported on Saturday, saying he remained open to a third summit with President Trump.

Mr. Kim, in his most direct remarks to Washington since February’s no-deal summit in Vietnam, said he doesn’t “need to persist” on pursuing another summit and isn’t desperate for sanctions relief, state media reported. He made the remarks on Friday at a gathering of North Korea’s rubber-stamp legislature, the Supreme People’s Assembly.

Mr. Kim warned the U.S. to change its approach to nuclear talks. He gave Washington “until late this year,” but added in an apparent reference to the Hanoi summit: “There won’t be as good an opportunity as last time.” The two leaders began discussions about North Korea’s nuclear disarmament at a summit in Singapore in June.

Things seem calmer because trump fell in love

Yes - it may just explain why a brutal dictator can easily outmaneuver and manipulate our president.

Who's being manipulated? No rockets are flying. Trump likes to play so is he outmaneuvered or just having fun.

It is instructive to get a grasp on the scale and intensity of death and destruction of the Korean War. It was probably at least as horrific as that in WWII, if not more so. I full scale confrontation now would undoubtedly be worse.

There is something the matter at the core of people who inveterately cheat at golf. The game can be a barometer of the soul.

The old guys i play with bump the ball and take drops where they want, but we dont play for money. We buy our own lunches. Leagues and tournaments you wouldnt even try that. I have only ever seen a guy cheat once and he got dq'd. I have seen the burrowing animal and "local rules" applied liberally but only after consultation with the group. In my Elks league i have never seen anyone cheat

Like lots of amateur sports there is prize money, so i guess gambling. I sometimes play in a money game in Az when i go there. If you suck you end up paying less than $20. Those guys would make you walk back to the clubhouse if you cheated. I guess my point is not everyone who golf's cheats If i played golf with Trump I would call him on it

If I played golf with trump, I would keep his score card in MY pocket.

If I played golf with Trump, I would ask him when he is going to release the unredacted FISA applications.

More business is done on gold courses than golf or perhaps in some offices.

Yes - I agree fully. My brother is a successful business man. About 30 years ago he took up golf, specifically to make more business contacts. It worked.

My fore some does not even keep score. If you hit a bad shot just drop a ball next to your cart mates ball. It's all for fun, not competition. When I play a tourney it's all legit and by the rules.
