They haven't put that back together YET?...I know I left clear instructions on where I left those extra, unnecessary parts...Honest, it was cold and windy out on the flightline that night, and an F-4 will fly very well with only half those bolts and rivets......Ben

Wifey was confused as to why I needed Duct Tape to fix a bathroom issue. So, I rolled out the now famous (yet unattributed):

Hmmm... Speed Tape: "...is capable of sticking on an airplane fuselage or wing at high speeds, hence the name."

I have heard of speed tape, but never looked into it. Today, a search appears to show that the metal duct tape may be the same thing.

Remembering from my hot rod magazines of the 50's and 60's, the racers at the Bonneville Salt Flats called it 200 mph tape because it could hold torn body panels on safely for another run......Ben

A friend of mine is an airline mechanic. They use speed tape for temporary repairs. It will handle 600 mph
