    wear and trear

Ok so I tow heavy, I pay the big bucks on top rated receivers and and extensions. The receiver on my truck was installed in 2015, over the years a few bolts have snapped. Thats and easy fix. Hovereve we have been noticing a drop in ball height. I figured metal fatigue from all those trans USA hauls on I80 and all the mountain roads locally. So I bought a whole new set up. I put together the extenion and used it in the old hitch while waiting for the shop appointment to install the new receiver. better but still sloppy. I got the receiver installed last week and tonight I put the whole system together. No play whatsoever. Money well spent in my book

So, apparently, in CA you can haul a trans around. (thankfully, my one and only Pride Week note)

the Receiver is rated to a 30K pull and the extension is rated for 12000 pounds dead pull and 1200 pound tongue weight. my horse trailer doesn't come anywhere near that. no worries on my part
