I would include Manchin in the gathering of those dishonorable--- he is not (IMHO) motivated by some lofty ideology as much as his own brand of politics to appeal to his electorate.

As I said in another thread, doesn't make him wrong. Just maybe not the best messenger.
I watched that interview and turned the sound off. He's like so many, refusing to answer a straight question with a straight answer.
What was interesting was that his perspective is totally ahistorical. Congress has in the past been fiercely partisan, much more so than today. Partisanship is nothing new. He's just using that issue to get another pipeline for his state. I doubt he really is devoted to bipartisanship if it doesn't benefit him.
