In school, I read two of Elie Wiesel's books about his Holocaust experiences. It was interesting and amazing how he considered himself fortunate to have made it through being in a prison camp. And, I was impressed and in awe of my paternal Grandfather, who make it through a prison camp after being captured during the Battle Of The Bulge. Yet, like Wiesel, my Grandfather had a positive attitude about life.
I have been to the Holocaust Museum in D.C. One of the things I still think about is the room they have which is filled with thousands of dead Jew's shoes the Nazis kept. It was an extraordinary experience. Now, I too think the Holocaust needs to be remembered and that info is shared with our young.
