PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A renewable energy plant being commissioned in Oregon on Wednesday that combines solar power, wind power and massive batteries to store the energy generated there is the first utility-scale plant of its kind in North America.

Sounds like a great place to place it. Lots of wind in the Gorge (Columbia River) and in a drier area so sunshine should also work. Of course the nay sayers will complain about batteries.

I passed by a windfarm near Mexia today...They had many dozens of turbines, but only one was rotating...Seems a little wasteful if all that electricity can be sold......Ben

The only windmill generators I've seen are at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. I think they went up about 20 years ago.
