    What If???

I know the scenario I am about to lay out could never happen, hell, I don't think it is even possible. But, what if they held an election and no one voted? Seriously, not one single person voted in the election. What happens then? Again, I know it will never, ever happen, but just for the sake of exercising the old brain cells, what would happen if not one person voted?

Trump would claim he won by fiat.

Upon a very small amount of research, I have found that various elected positions have a method for an election where no one wins. Some jurisdictions have methods to appoint a person to the office. But, some don't. I doubt I will ever find the answer because I just don't care that much and I am not willing to devote the effort it would take. Besides, I think there would be a near endless number of answers because of the number of jurisdictions involved.

Possibly off topic---but related: I pondered the very real possibility last night that I might be forced to vote entirely for the "least" candidates

I simply have failed to find even one---with party affiliation ignored completely, that I can be enthusiastic about.

I also am sad to say that I will most likely, for the first time in my life, vote for more Democrats and third party candidates than the impostors hiding behind the now defiled republican label.
