I have always wondered how anyone could stand to carry one of them in their pocket.

I do carry a Swiss Army Knife at all times----it is kind of my 1.25" version of Ben's 45

I literally do not leave home without it

As to the uses that might not be available to you---I can use the tooth pick for the obvious, I can cut my finger nails and file the sharp edges down, I can scrape off finish to see the substrate, I can trim off a stray thread, I can open a package or an envelope-----it is endlessly useful

As for personnel protection, I can do that too---I can scare the hell out of em----if they are close enough to see it

At my age and eyesight, I don't trust my aim that much with my .45...And my old knife is not exactly pocket size like yours...I concede to your advantage......Ben

I have a stainless steel Leatherman "Rebar" I carry. It's small and compact, yet has just the essentials I need, before pulling out my Jeep's shop tools.

But, I keep my eyes open - if a man made it, there's always a better tool to fix it.
