I smell something fishy and I'm not sure I'll buy this one.
Yes, we've all seen the reports stating a coup/assassination targeted Putin. I think that's a convenient spin Putin will approve of. For, he faces growing opposition to his war (thus his rule). I'm betting he and his cronies will collect and dispatch the culprits. And, as if by magic, many of them will also be war opponents.
