    tight pattern

It was really windy out and that made it all the more challenging but really fun and I was on.

You know, there're YouTube videos of archers taking down prey with heart and headshots. Seeing your grouping helps me see how that can be done.

When I was still shooting a bow we just shot at beer cans in the back yard.

I would have quickly tired of trying to find the arrows buried in the grass!

Years ago, I used straw bales but as time went on full penetration, even with tight bales, became common and I had to buy a commercial target.

I never shot that many arrows at once into a target----it would do far too much damage to the arrows when they would inevitably hit each other. Those buggers are expensive and I'm cheap

just like anything else you get better with practice. I have been shooting 2-3 flights a day for the past week. It's been really windy out so I have had to really work on holding my bow correctly and steady. I can't believe I just shot this grouping in swirling gusty winds. On a calm day I have never done it, but today every arrow hit the center bullseye from 30 yards out.

Just remember - when you Robin Hood, you are out TWO arrows.

I don't know about you, but when I'm on, all I see is that center of the target. It is like nothing else exists and I can't hear anything or feel anything or think about anything and that target is RIGHT THERE, huge and in front of me. It doesn't happen often but when it does, I can't miss. I love the few times that has happened.

A perfect analogy for successful shooting, Kevin. Believing in oneself and one's abilities is crucial to our performance.
