Curiosity has been roaming about Mars since Aug. 2012.
It recently has found more carbon isotopes, carbon is the key building block for all living things---at least here on earth. It has also driven thru methane clouds---a carbon compound.
Curiosity was expected (or hoped) to have a life of 23 months, now NASA is projecting 14 years

Life as we know it.. there is probably life out there that we don’t know how to look for.. aliens may be all around us.. in a spectrum that we can’t detect..

That is exactly why I qualified my statement with, "at least here on earth." It would be presumptuous to think that only life in our image qualifies as life.
