The added demand for testing and the higher prevalence of breakthrough cases have created an “opportune moment” to exploit.
I'm not going to cut and paste the entire article here but it is well worth reading to better understand the current proliferation of disinformation and how it spreads.
My own take is that it relies on ignorance---and ignorance can be fixed---but I have to admit hard headedness can be a challenge

After this pandemic is done, they'll probably be studies done to discern how tight the link was between those who died due to ignorance or due to politics.
It's unfortunate Covid has hit our society when we are so politically divided. My sister won't get vaccinated due to her political stance - and could possibly die as a result. She is one of the smartest people I've ever known - yet cannot get out of her own way.
