It appears there is a world-wide shortage of Urea which is the stuff DEF is made of. Many sources are predicting a shortage of DEF because of this. I am guessing this news will lead to a run on DEF supplies which will result in modern Diesel trucks not moving.

I plan to go tomorrow and buying a few boxes of DEF. Unfortunately, DEF has a fairly short shelf life of 1-3 years depending on the source.

What to Expect.

From Australia

Not only is DEF in short supply, but the DEF sensor supply is even worse, prompting fears of truck being taken out of service during a time when trucks themselves are in short supply.
