    Baa Baa Blacksheep

There is no forum for farmers or sheep ranchers on this site so if this is in the wrong area please move it.

As a warning to all our California members , I would advise you to buy your sheep and goats soon if you are one of the many " lawn care specialists " The price of these lawn mowing critters will without a doubt skyrocket before 2024 . If you work in the forestry industry a large number of beavers for dropping trees may be in order .

California is currently having electrical shortages as things stand . Just how bad will it get when everyone will have to charge all outdoor equipment . And , how in hell are the golf courses going to maintain the grounds .

I think your law makers have lost what little sense they may have had .

They have every right to choose their own poison.

I respect California's willingness and right to experiment with new concepts---it gives all the rest of us a chance to learn from them at no cost to us.

Poor examples can be as valuable a learning experience as good examples

No, it is not at "no cost to us." Due to their market size what they say spreads like the Covid-19 virus and affects the rest of us whether we like it or not.

I dislike California's social engineering because it does not stay in California.

At no cost to us. Now that is laughable.

I have to concede on that point---somethings do impact the entire country since their market is so dominant---a perfect example of that are the CARB regulations relating to engineered board.

    I spoke to soon

While I admit that the current standard of lawn care is a bit over the top , how many are willing to have their yard look like a unmown field of hay ?.

The result of not mowing and allowing nature to take its course would have beneficial results in other ares . It would for instance help reduce water use . another area in which CA. is currently having problems . There are also many homes with gravel yards which eliminate the need for mowing . [ I'm not sure what they call that ] but, it looks very nice .

A good example. What happens in California tends to reverberate through the country. Now, we can argue about whether or not that's right all day, but it happens.
