    Jalapeno pepper sauce

Was doing a little traveling this week and picked up a jar of Slap Ya Mama jalapeno pepper sauce. Had not ever seen that brand before but I just got finished using it and it is absolutely delicious with just the right amount of jalapeno flavor and spice.

I have used the the original Cajun Seasoning and found it to be pretty good. It is real similar to Tony's.

The Cajun Red Beans & Rice dinner mix looks good. And, Amazon has it online - with no shipping cost for Prime Members (like me).

Different. I was buying the Jalapeno Pepper Jelly that Ass Kickin sells. It's not hot but has a bit of bite. I mix it with 8oz of cream cheese and use a plain old mixer. Let it set up in the refrigerator to use as a dip. But here in Nebraska I found a different jelly at the Ace hardware store and it has just a bit more bite and is thinner so I use 8oz with a third of a jar to get the same consistency. Dillman Farms

Slap Yo’ Mamma brand is now owned by Tony Chachere’s I read somewhere. The dry spice offering is very similar to my taste. I use them interchangeably. I do not recall seeing a bottled sauce though.

I do have a spicy recommendation to add here.
I was induced by something I read on the ‘net somewhere to give Momofuku Chili Crunch a try. It is an 8 oz. jar of 3 different peppers ground up and in oil with shallots, garlic and sesame oil. It looks similar to the hot chili oils you see in Chinese restaurants, but is much different in taste and has a crunchy texture that makes it special. The one I bought is not nearly as firey as it looks, but they also make one with black truffles and one with Habaneros. It’s a bit pricy @$35, but I’m afraid I’ve become addicted to it on oriental dishes. I’ll bet there are many other uses I have not tried yet. If I ate breakfast tacos or spiced up my eggs, I would give it a try on those.

I must have made an error on the price of the Momofuku Chili Crunch the price is actually $12 per 8 oz. jar. I’m hoping someone else gives it a shot to see if I am exaggerating. The $35 price was for 3 jars.

My wife and I came upon an excellent Hot Sauce while in China several years ago.

It's called Busha Brown's pukka sauce - made with Scotch Bonnet peppers. It must have converted other followers 'cause Amazon now sells it. It's hot, but I'm impressed by its taste. It doesn't have that vinegary background like many of them. And, it's not one of those ridiculously hot concoctions braggarts boast about.
