    Nixon was smart, yet a crook.

    He graduated 3rd in his HS class and went to college on a scholarship. And, he could have gained a military draft referral on a religious basis - but voluntarily enlisted.

    After what we've seen politically lately, he just doesn't seem as bad to me anymore.

    I wrote some about how he spent his time in the Solomon Islands with the Navy, and how he supplemented his income...Toward the end of the war it became increasingly difficult for him to find anyone willing to play poker with him......Ben

    I have known many people who were so smart that the sometimes did things that were so un-smart..

    They are just as bad in some areas as they are good in other areas..

    He overall smartest people are the one’s who are smart enough to mask their shortcomings..
