Very in-ter-est-ink! However, I see little possibilities for infusing the dog with the necessary flavorful carcinogens one gets from proper grilling. I will be sticking with the roller-grills at my local 7-Eleven. I have learned, after diligent investigation, that if you can get your dogs after they have been rolling between 6 & 8 hours, you have the ideal blister & burn for seriously fine consumption. That bit of crunch from proper time on the grill is highly sought. The trick is finding a location with low enough turn-over that the dogs stay the necessary hours. Besides, the air suspension system shown is grievously limited to one dog at a time.

Btw, I much prefer the small dog as opposed to big, fat dogs. The ratio of meat to bun is just off to me. I seem to be in the minority here though, as the smaller traditional size are hard to find rolling now.

Incidentally, dogs off of the smoker for a couple of hours are mighty fine too. We usually put on a package while smoking brisket or ribs.

I never thought about putting a dog on the smoker. Seems redundant. Are these butcher shop dogs?

I love a good hot dog. A chili dog covered with cheese and jalapeños is a fancy sit down meal.

The best dogs I can get are Calloway, followed by the Safeway brand that I can sometimes find, and then Nathans and Hebrew. My brother in law gets something called “big reds” and they are very good as well.

Curt, try throwing a few next to whatever you are smoking next time for an hour or two, I think you will be surprised how much is added...and they store quite well in the frig for a later throw-down dog.

I don’t go exotic very often (never heard of Calloway dogs)...Oscar Meyer usually...but occasionally I like the snap of a real natural case on some Boar’s Head. For me too, chili, cheese & onions top to off perfectly.

I had a pretty tasty hot dog at a Pilot station today. I was surprised.

Speaking of roller grills, I’ve often wondered why nobody has invented a roller gizmo to go on your Weber grill. Kinda back there where that bun warmer tray thingy hangs. Would sure make a bbq easy with all the dogs hanging out ready to go.

It would surely make money. Bbq stuff is like golf stuff. Everyone will buy one regardless of it’s utility.
