I am pretty amazed at what people (not here, just in general) think what products pipelines transport. And how they ignore how those products can be delivered if pipelines are shut down.

Mike , I'm not sure where you are going with your post . I have no wish to dispute your statement as being wrong however , there is NO QUESTION that pipelines are the most efficient and safest way to transport a huge number of products. Are there breaks and are people injured and even killed by those breaks , YES . But , the numbers pale in comparison to the number of injuries when considering the other means of delivering the many products.
Lets face it , you could deliver gas in cans by mule if you desired to . But that would not be the most efficient method.

I'm not really going any place other than to point out how important pipelines are to our economy and our way of life. Without them fuel prices would be out of reach for most of us.

In the meantime, can we all agree that these hackers should be hunted down and killed. How hard can it be to make things safer? It feels like we are being conditioned to accept hacking as a new normal.
It should be a plank in Prezbo’s platform.

Ah, as I read your post , I got the impression that you were in favor of alternative methods of transport. { SORRY ] I may be a bit prejudiced since i made a living flying over them for many years.

I’m looking forward to seeing my first electric tanker truck. I’m so confused.

Curt , Your first E Semi will be right behind the Diesel Semi taking fuel to the plant where it will be burned to make the Electricity to charge your E Semi.

Was a ransom paid in this, the latest in a long line of cyber hostage cases? In any case, if we had a real president, he/she would immediately inform the hosting state (Russia) that with regards to the various hackers terrorizing our various institutions, businesses and government entities with incessant hostage/ransom attacks, the country will receive the most strenuous sanctions imaginable in retaliation until all attacks stop and the perps are closed down/liquidated one way or the other.
It is axiomatic that these sophisticated criminal bands could not possibly operate without collaboration with the highest authority in Russia and payment of vigorish for the privilege. Putin, in this case, should be directly confronted and his side business closed.

If CBS can be believed (always questionable), Colonial Pipeline paid $5 million to restart their hijacked software...A bad move in my opinion if true...I'd much rather see a bounty on the heads of the hijackers......Ben

I'm sure there some back room group looking into that idea, Ben.
As for blaming the current guy in office for the shortages I think when people were staying home many industries cut back on people, goods and supplies. Now the scramble to get those back in the system will take some time (months, years), meanwhile we can all blame someone for it, but ourselves.

Pretty obvious that Biden relishes any disruption of fossil fuel use, and expressed zero interest in the Colonial Pipeline interruption other than uttering perfunctory words. The doofus actually thinks windmills can move America.

I think there's a major flaw when criminals are paid off. But, I do not believe it is illegal to do so. The best we can hope for is that more criminals will not be incentivized by it.
