    Supply shortages

This is getting a little scary. Depending on who or what you read there are any number of theories about why this is happening. I can tell you one thing I went by three of the largest automobile dealers in my area today and they don't have much stock at all. Generators medical supplies Food Supplies chicken supplies you name it. I hope the biden administration in all their wisdom is watching this closely and being proactive.p

The car shortage is computer chips.. when the lockdown hit and car sales spiraled down the manufacturers canceled their pending chip orders.. now sales are back up but there is a long (months) lead time on the new chips..

I bought a used car just before lockdown and now, a year plus later it is worth more than I paid for it..

On edit: Friday at Aldi, tons of chicken but no Fig Newtons! Costco had several pallets of toilet paper out in the main area, in addition to the wall full in the TP department..

The supply chain for construction materials out here (4 state area) is completely broken.

What do you think is assured to occur when the government unleashes trillions of magic printed dollar$ into an economy, much less into one with widespread shortages?

The perceived shortage of ammunition right now is at unprecedented levels...I suppose I'll have to empty my closet except for what I carry on me, become an instant millionaire at the expense of the panic-stricken hordes, then when manufacturing regains it's normal levels and prices go back down to acceptable levels, I'll restock with my obscene profits and retire again......Ben

Yep - saw this same topic on the news and figured our news gurus here would be on top of it. I was not disappointed.

CBS did a segment of news regarding shortages of some items at stores and in the market. One item being watched is Chorine for swimming pools - a shortage is driving up prices.

According to economists, we're seeing the impacts of factories/businesses running out of some raw goods. Who's fault that is (if a fault is needed) seems up in the air, to me.

Just wait until the World realizes that the money this administration is printing isn't worth the paper it's printed on .

The " good faith " that the U.S. will cover the bucks is in a slide as we type. It will not take much for what faith is left to disappear . Then what will happen. We can barley afford to pay the interest on loans as it is .

I've always question the cost of a salt water pool given the extended pump run times but it's paying off now. Chlorine is more expensive than electricity right now and I have a buddy in the pool industry that can't even get me a deal.

Also have a buddy that has been flipping house for years. He can't find any to buy these days (inventory is at record lows in the Phoenix area) so he bought 2 shipping containers and sold his house (piece of crap house that sold for 500K). Put his vehicles and all his possessions in the containers and had them shipped to Hawaii (big island).. He's going to make a house out of the containers and get a bar tending gig somewhere.... Strange times we live in!

Its a sellers market here in the East Bay Suburbs. Houses go on the market and are gone in a week after a short but intense bidding war at way over the asking price. I bought my place 8 years ago for $500k, current market value is $1.15 million. I could probably get 1.3 but then have no place in the area that I could afford to buy. 3 bdr 2 bath 2 car garage, living room, kitchen, den, 1700 sq ft on a 10,000 sq ft lot. its effing nuts

Yep it's quite a dilemma. But if you're willing to sell at that price and move to a location at much lower price you can make Bank. But if you're going to stay in that area in California just like you said stay

Even the Lefty lackey, Yellen, just signaled rising interest rates, which translates into massively more problems for the federal budget.

That's what Californians are doing and moving to Az in mass.... Sucks because they are ruining our state.

I wish more of them would stay in AZ. instead of coming to Texas. They want to re-make their failed state here and we don't need 'em if that is their goal.
