14 posts and not a single mention of the perp being a Muslim whack job just like one of the mass shooters in Colorado. Tsk tsk.

Are Catholics trying to destroy America?

I haven't seen anything yet to indicate that his religion had anything to do with his actions. As a matter of fact, the authorities are for now saying the opposite. That could change, of course, but you seem to have information I don't.

Where did you read that 1) Muslims are trying to destroy America and 2) This guy was part of that effort?

My post was not intended to be "whataboutism" and if it was interpreted as such I apologize.

That said, whataboutism cannot be used as a defense against hypocrisy---and inevitably pointing out or arguing against hypocrisy will result in what might be called whataboutism. As such, the practice is appropriate.

A New Yorker who doesn’t see the dangers Muslim extremists pose to America? Or is only the right wing nut jobs you have scorn for? This is getting ridiculous.

And when its 14 posts about something other than the title, I'm not sure whutitsabout.

I see terrorists trying to destroy America. I don't see a religion trying to do that, any more than I think all white people are trying to destroy American just because white supremacists are violent.

I resist stereotyping. I save my scorn for the segments of a population that are actually engaging in problematic behavior. I don't paint with as broad a brush as others.

Otherwise, we end up with things such as Japanese internment camps.

It’s as effective as a 10,000 word essay when talking to you sometimes. And much easier.

I can talk all day but I hate typing.
