I got the first shot 2 weeks ago this coming Monday. It was moderna. I had very minor pain at the injection site which was completely normal for any shot but absolutely no side effects at all.

    Today's update.

Death's continue to drop---but now total 555k+ and new cases continue to rise---however, this is concentrated in a handful of states---which includes the ones were I work and live---thank the Lord for vaccines

Yesterday shot causes a slight soreness all day. Went to sleep and awoke wanting to register as a republican.... No that was a nightmare. Feeling fine this AM.

Here’s a pretty concise chart from the CDC that shows age as a risk factor in COVID severity. It partially explains why there is such a disparate attitude toward lockdowns and such.

    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...th-by-age.html

It will be interesting to see the statistics based on other risk factors as they are distilled.

Today is the first time that I have noticed the infection rate trend downward---at -4%

But---at the sametime, last weeks worldwide infection rate hit a new all time high

I found this graphic very interesting--especially for parents with young children in making benefit/risk decisions of socialising. As a side note, my wife and I spent last weekend with our Grandchildren for the first time since Feb of last year. Included were a soccer game and two fast pitch softball games---there was a wide absence of masks in all.

Excellent. I'm really looking forward to seeing a lot of that by the end of Summer (I hope).

    https://slate.com/technology/2021/04...-cdc-data.html

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that more than 5,800 out of 75 million fully vaccinated people in the U.S. have been infected with COVID-19. Of these “breakthrough cases,” 396 were hospitalized and 74 people died. The CDC defines a breakthrough case as someone who gets sick, either symptomatically or asymptomatically, 14 or more days after full vaccination. A few headlines about the report implied, rather irresponsibly, that the breakthroughs happened because the vaccines didn’t work. CNN, for instance, put it this way: “So far, 5,800 fully vaccinated people have caught Covid anyway in US, CDC said.”
I'm liking these odds a lot better after getting the 2nd shot. But 75M is a long way to getting close to herd immunity.

Why is that? These shots have proven to be incredibly safe.

Unfortunately garbage in = garbage out.

Too much of the BS going around and not enough people checking things out for themselves.

Impressive. For, unless I missed it, none of our members have refused to get vaccinated.
