Covid has knocked on my door

I was notified tonight that someone I transported on Wednesday has tested positive for Covid. They were masked, I was masked and gloved. I had the first round of the covid vaccine on the 20th which should give me 80-90% efficacy against the virus. So far I have no symptoms and my temp is in my normal mid 97* range. I get a swab test on Wednesday. In the mean time I stay masked and do temperature monitoring.

Ah the life of a front line EMT ( hopefully not death)

Hopefully all the protections you were taking was good enough to prevent transmission. Gosh I hope you don't catch that crap.

That makes two of us. But if it's my time it's my time. I can't let it worry me too much

Talked to my oldest daughter over X-mas and she caught it. Said she had flu systems and a fever for three days and then boom she felt fine. None of the six kids or her husband got any part of it either. Weird virus that's for sure and am glad for it (The Weirdest) right now.

You will be fine Eric---that great sage rush limbaugh, said it is just like the common cold.

    Good luck my friend

I heard that the first shot only provides about 50% protection. It's the booster that ups it to 95% ish.

actually the first shot gives between 80-90% but only short term protection of 60 days or so, the second shot bumps it up to 95% and creates the long term virus protection

I Got offered the shot by the V A today. But , I think i'm going to wait for a while before taking the stab. There are just to many different articles from the SAME " EXPERTS " about how this will effect you and will it protect you.

NOTE : Dr. Anthony Fauci has cautioned that early COVID-19 vaccines will be focused on preventing .....symptoms....... of the virus, not blocking it altogether.

Fauci, the nation’s leading expert on infectious diseases, made the point on Monday as at least four vaccine candidates near the end of clinical trials and the US reported a record number of new cases in the last week.

While the end goal of the vaccines will be to eradicate the virus, Fauci noted that developers are aiming for a simpler goal in the first round of jabs.

‘The primary thing you want to do is that if people get infected, prevent them from getting sick, and if you prevent them from getting sick, you will ultimately prevent them from getting seriously ill,’ Fauci said at Yahoo Finance’s All Markets Summit.

Hope you are fine Eric. My brother just got over it and he said it was painful.
