    Anybody know what this ML is?

    Looks like something the US issued a long time ago. Sidelock muzzleloader. Looks like markings have been stamped over each other?

    Anyone know what it is?

    I'm still on the lookout for a Bean rifle at the gun shows...I don't expect to find one though...Four generations on my Mom's side of the family made them......Ben

    Your link confirmed my first thoughts. That was one of the more common of the Civil War rifles. There are more than one museum in and around Gettysburg that have rooms full.
