I echo the sentiments of Sandman---this was very impressive. We (and I share this guilt) tend to degrade public servants too willingly---and at least in PA, they did not live up to that billing. I was impressed, from the beginning to the end of the process. During the primary I used the drop box---something we have never previously had, and there was one young man standing by. This time---and a different (and I believe transportable) drop box with two young folks not only directing and watching over me they examined (without touching) the back of the outer envelope to assure it was filled out correctly.

I foresee no reason for me to ever go to the polls again. This was totally a win win.

Notice I specifically said, “Mail-in voting should be [b]discouraged as much as possible[/]...,” Fred, and did not say eliminate. Mailed ballots have their place, but mailing to everyone at an old address on a list going back years, as some states apparently did is inviting fraud.

If I had a more secure and reasonable method, I would offer it, but I am certain any change for better security would be shot down as a scheme to “suppress the vote.”

Just to be fair the county did send out a mailer asking if we still wanted mail in ballots way back in the spring. Those states that may not have been used to mail in may not have been up to speed or hampered by not being able to count ballots before election day.

Either way it was a record turnout from the reports I've seen.

Here the witness signature is only required if you cannot sign your own ballot.

Here you can mail it in and sign up for notifications. They send a text when it's been received and another when it's been signature verified and counted...

These idiots vote. I'm strongly opposed to "get out the vote" efforts. We have enough idiots voting.
