Bright people doing supremely stupid things

I wonder what he will do with the rest of his life

The New Yorker said on Monday that it had suspended the staff writer Jeffrey Toobin after he exposed himself during a Zoom call last week with employees of the magazine and WNYC radio, according to two people familiar with the call.

No one without at least a small thread of perversion could do that. Third eye blind I guess.

From what I read it was more than a simple exposure. Fool!

It simply astounds me It seems as if half my life is now on zoom---but I am unwaveringly aware that the camera is on. My camera has a blind (a physical shutter) on it. If I have to "scratch my ass"---the blind is closed---I don't trust the "mute" feature. The most common use of the shutter is if I have to go to the rest room---I don't want anyone knowing that below my dress shirt is a pair of sweat shorts

Another, step I took is to use a virtual background. I was distracted for an entire meeting by a picture behind me that was crooked

It’s a bit more obscene than that. He was administering “self pleasure” to himself while his zoom session was, unknowingly to him, still active.

Toobin is probably one of those who argue that no one is daffy enough to give his loaded laptops to a computer repair shop and forget what he did...even if high on crack.
