Well we are home, Nice two day trip with Ruth and the doggies to the West Fork of the Carson River in Hope Valley on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada, just south of hwy 88 320 mile round trip. Day time highs were mid 70s and the morning low was 28.
The Aspens were in full golden splendor, light winds cloudless skies. And with no moon or city lights the Milky Way was spectacular (My photos do not do it justice).
We took hikes with the dogs. The Carson River was crystal clear and flowing slowly. I caught 5 trout and hooked 4 more that I lost. Used a dry fly indicator and a nymph trailing 16 inches behind tied to the bend of the dry flies hook. It worked well hooked 4 on the nymph and one on the dry.
Dinner was Ribs in BBQ sauce cooked in a La Cruset in the TC oven at 300 for 90 minutes (no outside fires of any type due to extreme fire danger.
Enjoy the pics
