    Voting by mail

As it was in the primary, the oversite of voting by mail begins anew, this arrived via email this morning:

    Dear DAVID C GRUBB,
Your ballot is almost ready, and it's being prepared for mailing. If you do not receive your ballot in the next 10-14 days, please contact your county election office.
If you have questions concerning your ballot, please contact MONTGOMERY County at (610) 278-3280.
    Thank you
This will continue until they confirm receipt of my ballot.

The biggest problem with this process rests with the USPS--and that is a disgrace.

When the chain-of-custody is with the incompetent and sometimes worse, there will always be questions as to the result. Keep in mind that the chain is exclusively with union members and guess who owns the unions?

As long as trump whines about voting by mail there will be no point in arguing with you---but you might want to just silently educate yourself on the process in PA.

I did actually read your post---and your link. I would encourage everyone to read the link.

Ballots were not counted because they were not executed correctly, there was a problem with the signature or they were not delivered (or sent) on time. I'd suggest if those ballots had been counted there would be an uproar---as well there should be.

That article does more to endorse voting by mail than condemning it-----not to mention, that based on what is said here, dem libs are all dummies and those are the votes that got tossed out. Dem conservatives should be happy all dem dummies votes got tossed out.

    Thanks for the link

Just as a point of information---I will not entrust my completed ballot to the custody of the USPS---I will take it to one of the county's drop boxes and deliver it myself.

Out of curiosity, do you think any of these ballots should have been counted? I'd say they did a damn good job.

I think you missed my point. The point is there are problems with mail in ballots and if the election is close there will be both parties trying to go behind the processes of a particular state and have the ballots ordered to be counted or not counted. Hard to argue with a signed ballot sheet at the polling place and a computer vote counter, that is off course we don't have Russian or Chinese collusion to tamper with the systems.

Dave admits he too does not trust the chain-of-custody in the U.S. Mails. I do not either, and out of the litany of reason to beware, it is the intentional acts of postal workers themselves I have the most apprehension. Once a ballot goes into a post office truck or container in the system, what assurance is there that it will find its way, or find its way in proper time, to the county vote counting center? Lord knows there are zealots out there who would not blink in “disappearing” ballots from their Republican or Democrat predominant route, or disrupting them in a service center.

Take a look at a postal worker zealot example of whom I speak. This guy attacked a roadside Trump rally punching an 84 year-old woman Trump supporter after she resisted him trying to light her poster aflame. He then punched some 70 year-olds who came to her rescue. You think he would have any compunctions against messing with votes in his reach he suspected were Republican?

And I have to ask---do you seriously believe there are not equal stories with the "parties" reversed?

You have to wonder who those nuisances were trying to influence. If there is one thing I would not want to see at my polling place it would be a caravan of noisy idiots hollering at me, but I certainly would not be intimidated by them. I would be more likely to vote against their wishes though.

Intimidation is what the Black Panthers did in Philly four years ago hulking around the polls carrying ax handles.

This is apparently not as simple and trouble-free as some would have us believe.

The problem is that the argument is voting by mail. Voting by mail is not the true argument. The issue is sending unsolicited ballots. Who knows who is receiving those ballots, if they are actually being cast as one person one vote, or if there has been other tampering.
That is why Trump does not have a problem with the apparent hypocrisy of voting by mail, himself. He requested the ballot. It was not just mailed haphazardly.
