That is why Trump does not have a problem with the apparent hypocrisy of voting by mail, himself. He requested the ballot. It was not just mailed haphazardly.
I agree the issue should seem to be more about who is getting ballots. Here we just have a couple of simple steps in order for your ballot to be counted (self certification, signature, privacy sleeve, and sealed envelope.

It would be very easy for someone to steal my ballot and vote on my behalf. But we have been doing it this way for a long time here, and I don't know of any systemic problems.

I also hand deliver my ballot to the polling place.

Front door to City Hall where the drop box is just happens to be 50 feet from the front door of the Police Department and there are multiple cameras trained on you and monitored 24x7 by PD dispatch

We have not yet received our ballots, the first group has gone out but apparently we were not in it. I plan on a quick turnaround to a secure drop in a county park a few miles away.

I have been impressed by the instructional ads being done as a public service. I'm sure not everyone will get it right but the commission and the media has done an excellent job at trying.

I got mine today and it is filled out ready to go to the drop box. I will wait until my wife has hers to save the extra trip. I had previously down loaded the ballot and did my due diligence on the candidates so I knew how I was going to vote.

So when I signed up to be a permanent vote by mail voter I also signed up with ballot Trax with the state. We dropped our ballots last Saturday at the city hall drop box. I got this text today

This is a message from Alameda County Registrar of Voters. Your ballot for the 2020 General Election was received and will be counted. Thank you for voting!

    Questions? Call (510) 272-6973 or email ballot.trax@acgov.org.

That's cool. We don't have that as far as I know. I wish we did.

I have to check, they seem to have done everything else with such professionalism I would expect there is a way of doing that. Actually, as I write this I seem to recall I got an email the last time. I do recall that I got an email confirming their receipt when I sent in my request for this election.

The article below states that two counties in Pennsylvania “screwed up” 90,000 ballots sent to voters. One of the counties, Allegheny County, will resend the ballots, but those it has already received back will be set aside and reviewed AFTER the election. The article fails to describe what the “screw up” was.

Pennsylvania is the most critical toss-up state. It is almost impossible for Trump to win the electoral college without winning Pennsylvania, which he took in 2016 by a mere 45,000 votes.
