There was a time when manufacturers spent their ad money in efforts to keep the public better informed about their product in the hope that increasing the useful life of what they built and sold would encourage new customers to buy their products...Imagine suggesting such a scheme to manufacturers today who only want their customers to buy a new one next week because the one they bought last week doesn't look as modern in the commercial...The paid ad seen below and presented by Chevrolet was produced in the middle of the Great Depression, and shown to those few people who could afford a movie ticket once in a while...It explained why they should check under the hood occasionally, keeping their older cars on the road a little longer......Ben
