Trump finds out the federal government owns most of the land in Cali

He getting ready to issue an executive order for mass sweeping of the forest.

His other order is to give 1 acre of land in the forest to each Trump supporters if they are able to get there and renounce their current state and vote by mail in this election.

Idiot didn't know the federal governments amount of land until yesterday. He's still trying to confirm it with Faux news.

Yeah - there's a lot of Fed land here in the West.

We're surrounded by BLM land (not THAT BLM) here and make the most of it. I camp on it when traveling - and love it (as do the wild horses).

Yeah people want the forest swept clean or massive logging and prescribed burns which it not all that easy to do to prevent fires.

And others want to live in a forest type area.

Not sure of the right answer, but finger pointing doesn't get anything accomplished.

It's a very sad deal. Folks seem to forget about the animals and the toll it takes on them. The Governor has even stated that California is not doing enough to manage their forests. It won't be long if it has not already happened that homeowners in fire prone areas will not be able to get homeowners insurance or if they can it will be 10X the normal rate.

Market forces. Don't insure where you will take a loss.

Conversely don't build in stupid steep overgrown canyon and then whine about it when it burns down year after year. California has always been a fire prone environment. the plants are adapted to it. Their seeds only grow after the heat of the fire cracks the hulls. The Native Indigenous tribes understood this and moved from place to place for a reason. Only dumb ass gringos thought that they could solve the issue will massive fire suppression. Now you see what 50-60 year fuel loads of Manzanita, scub oak and Chaparral, do when they burn. They take everything else with them. The Air Resources board and the FEDs have to take a lot of the blame. They (ARB) fear massive fines from the Feds if the air quality is bad from Controlled burns so they make it next to impossible to get permits to do so. You can't win

Massive California and West Coast wildfires have been periodically sweeping the area for as far back as scientist can drag for evidence. It is the way the geography lies. Even the Indians knew that and set fires to compensate. The massive fires were prevalent after the White Man settled the area until we got the brilliant idea to suppress them and build towns and housing among the forest about 70-80 years ago.

Now, with 70-80 years of undergrowth and human habitation infiltrated throughout carrying out safe clearing fires in the tender boxes we have cultivated is virtually impossible. It’s OK though because the bitch, Mother Nature, will do the job for us and she could not care less for pesky human habitation.

This is perhaps your most uniformed post ever. I'm sure others will argue, but I don't follow you very closely.

Besides the fact that the Trump boys know their way around most public lands in the west, Trump has agruably done more on behalf of public lands than his predecessors. Especially in Utah.

But I'm not here to argue with the unwilling, so you will just have to consider this a drive-by by another idiot Trump supporter.

But some of you should really look into the facts before you make fools of yourselves.

Cows used to manage forests in the west. But they aren't a native species, so now nobody does. Lest you forget, I live in them.
