the Air Quality here is horrible from the smoke

Visibility is between 1/2 and 3/4 of a mile. The Air Quality Index number is currently 230. Very unhealthy. It hurts to breathe outside unless I am wearing my NOISH respirator. The smoke killed the return air hepa filter on our AC system. Luckily I had 2 spares. Just ordered 6 more online with a MERV rating of 13 which will filter out smoke particles (and everything else).

old filter is on the right. It's less that 30 days old

    That's nasty

The good news----you still have a house

I keep all those who have been impacted by these fires in my prayers. I just read this in the NYT Daily Briefing:

    1. Dozens of people remain missing in the Oregon wildfires. One official spoke of the horrifying possibility of a “mass fatality incident.”

West Coast blazes have scorched a combined area approaching the size of New Jersey, killing at least 20 people and sending blankets of choking smoke far from the fires.
Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated, and about 500,000 more could be ordered to flee. Many are looking to changing weather for hope. President Trump will visit California on Monday, the White House said. We’re tracking the fires’ spread and resulting air quality.

Been in that part of Oregon, as my wife grew up in Lyons and her sister lives there on the family homestead . We visit at least once a year as you get the feeling of being in the woods and next to the small stream that runs thru the area. Great place to tube or just get your feet wet in the river.

Last we heard her sister was out and at the State fairgrounds. What they may return to is anyone's guess at the moment.

Hopefully they get some rain this next week.

We're even seeing haze from the fires here in Utah.

Amazing. May all be safe and secure.
