Compare the statistics between NY and say Texas---while keeping in mind population density. NY got off to a very bad start (and allow me to interject here, had they known more about what they were dealing with it might have been far less traumatic). That ignorance BTW lies right at trump's feet because he apparently knew what they didn't know. In any event, look at the progressions of the cases. Yes---it was bad in NY but they have done a reasonably good job of bringing it under control. If you prefer to look at a more rural state---try Vermont.

I'm reasonably sure that we still have guidelines in effect that are more stringent than most states.

Now I need to go to a Zoom meeting

The true scope of the virus problem was wildly overblown by everyone.

Not everyone lives were you do---tell that to someone in the Bronx and see their reaction.

So Trump downplayed it to keep people from a nationwide panic. As it was, we still couldn't find toilet paper or paper towels for months. Many Presidents have downplayed financial crisis' to avoid panic and runs on the bank. Let's remember what everyone else was doing while Trump was downplaying it. Biden was calling Trump Xenophobic for halting travel from China. Pelosi was telling people to go to Chinatown and party. Cuomo was telling NY'ers they were tougher than the virus and should just go about their business as usual, go out and party. Then he sent thousands of infected people into nursing homes to create mass slaughter of the elderly in the homes. Oh, and Fauci, he was out telling people not to wear masks.
So excuse me if I don't get worked up over Trump saying it's about like the flu....

I didn't make them live in the bronx. And I'm tired of people who live there telling me how to live.

Only slightly dated. Deaths in nursing homes now officially stand around 40%.

Their reaction will be based primarily on their political affiliation. That's what's stupid. But I never did meet anyone from the bronx or any other borough who could see past jersey.

Joe Biden is non stop attacking President Trump on his responses to the pandemic. What were Joe’s & his crew?

    THE TIMELINE

Rove reported on Biden’s plan of January 27th, which Biden put in an op-ed. Biden wrote he would give the President authority to declare a pandemic, which he already has and did. Biden said he’s also going to set up a global health service to help people around the world. Rove didn’t think much of that.

*On the 31st, Trump put in the China travel ban and Biden said it was xenophobic and racist. Immediately before, Biden’s advisers said a travel ban is premature and the President should “stop panicking.” On February 6th, Biden’s advisers said it’s not very likely it will be a serious pandemic and in a lethal form, it will be negligible.

*On February 11 and 13, Ron Klain, Biden’s adviser said it’s not serious. We aren’t facing a health epidemic, we’re facing a fear epidemic. It was an attack on the President for raising concerns.

*On the 20th, Biden adviser Zeke Emanuel said this is all an overreaction.

*On the 23rd, Pelosi told everyone to gather in Chinatown.

*On the 29th, Zeke said the masks do not work (that is the day the first American dies from COV).

*On March 12th, the day the President is putting in a ban on Europe, Lisa Monaco, a top adviser to Biden and Biden himself, go out and team up to say the European travel ban is unnecessary. It’s premature.

*Biden said nothing about a lockdown, masks, social distancing, the National Defense Production Act until after the President raised these issues.

This clown Biden is telling everyone if people had listened to him, people wouldn’t be dead, but it is not what he said.

I will go out on the limb and say no one told the other party about the seriousness of the virus. The crap about blaming dems for it is more than stupid. Hell the clown today still can't give it a name.

What is the difference between Trump talking down the virus and Biden/Harris talking down the riots?

All that has been stated above in interesting.. I see the problem as President Trump granting such an interview to Bob Woodward.. the guy who brought Nixon down.. there is no up side to granting such interviews.. I’m baffled by the poor judgement..

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I’m a certified nobody and I would not Answer a question from Bob Woodward much less grant an interview..

We're taking it seriously here. And, it's hitting me personally. I have an 83 year old Father and a 81 year old Mother. I'm trying to keep everyone away from them - and failing. For, they both are very social and just can't seem to stop.

They are fine with the possibility of dying. Their children (like me) aren't.

I’m OK with the inevitable also, but checking out after weeks in a room hooked up to a respirator drowning in your juices without visitors is not the way to do it.

    .
Everyone said listen to the experts. Everyone said Fauci was the expert. Fauci said we shouldn't wear masks. Imagine if they "expert" hadn't dismissed the value of face masks, then flip flopped on it later. People might have listened.

Throw in WHO as another that recommended AGAINST wearing face diapers.
