    Corn Pie

    ---Pizza pie that is

A delightful break from the ubiquitous pizza joint.

A very small menu filled with treats! The winner for the night was the corn pizza The shared desert (5 adults) was another first for my world of pizza---blueberry pizza

The crust was about 1/16" thick---and cracker crisp

A wonderful step out of the "box"

That Pizza joint looks very enticing...wish it was close.
I still do not understand why Hatch Green Chili’s are not standard options in pizza joints though.

I think it is rather simple--ignorance--and that isn't meant to be insulting---it is simply a fact. If not for the CB, I don't know that I would be aware of them, much less have them in my pantry.

I noted that Olcé offered “Hot Peppers” as an ingredient without specifying what kind that is. Around here jalapeños are standard, but I’m guessing in Pennsylvania jalapeño’s are not that prevalent.

Not at all, jalapeno's are unquestionably the most widely available of all hot peppers---and commonly grown. They grow here much easier than do habaneros. Habaneros seem to like more heat than we commonly have. When I would move my seedlings from the house to the garden I always planted them through black plastic which helped warm the soil--a great help to the "cold blooded" habaneros. The struggle on the back end was to get them to ripen before the first frost. Jalapenos, on the other hand, seem to be much more hardy in this climate.

I just checked our "go to" local Mexican Restaurant and they do not have it. I'm not much into deserts but I will put that in my mental file to be on the look out for.

As an aside---and this just occurred to me---we regard the folks in our "go to" places like family--and they do the same in reverse. We have for the most part been missing that since last March. Our Mexican place is only pick-up or delivery. We are far from their delivery area and so it is pick-up for us. We drive up, call and tell them we are there and they bring the order out---they pass it through the window and they are gone---I miss the "family"

Added in edit: my subsequent reading shows me this is a side dish and not desert---and looks very good--thank you

I bleed for our restauranteurs and employees who can’t take much more of this.

I share your feelings---who would have ever imagined something like this, much less be prepared for it.

On the occasion that we do out to eat (all alfresco), I am an uber tipper.

I am more than relieved that we are classified as essential services.
