An article in this morning's WSJ discusses at length the state of technology of autonomous ships. They seem to be far ahead of other land (or sea) based efforts, with some now delivering groceries, while others patrol the seas. The USN will see their second fully autonomous ship (Sea Hunter II) launched at the end of this year.
