    An inconvenient truth

G.O.P.-Led Senate Panel Details Ties Between 2016 Trump Campaign and Russia

WASHINGTON — A sprawling report released Tuesday by a Republican-controlled Senate panel that spent three years investigating Russia’s 2016 election interference laid out an extensive web of contacts between Trump campaign advisers and Russian government officials and other Russians, including some with ties to the country’s intelligence services.

The report by the Senate Intelligence Committee, totaling nearly 1,000 pages, provided a bipartisan Senate imprimatur for an extraordinary set of facts: The Russian government undertook an extensive campaign to try to sabotage the 2016 American election to help Mr. Trump become president, and some members of Mr. Trump’s circle of advisers were open to the help from an American adversary.

The report drew to a close one of the highest-profile congressional inquiries in recent memory, one that the president and his allies have long tried to discredit as part of a “witch hunt” designed to undermine the legitimacy of Mr. Trump’s stunning election nearly four years ago.

I would be interested in hearing more about this. Do you mind posting the link to the entire article?

Actually, the interview I saw with the chairman of the committee showed him saying after 200+ witnesses under oath and over 1,000,000 pages of documents, like Mueller, they found zero evidence of ANY collusion by Trump or his people with the Russians. Then I was treated to a piece by Schumer saying he was disturbed to find that Trump people actually talked to many Russians. OMG. I was also told by Sen. Mark Warner, ranking member of the committee, that they found that the Russians tried to co-opt members of Trump’s incoming group, but that was it...that’s all he had. Left unsaid, yet screaming for a voice, was the unspoken confession that the Russian were totally unsuccessful in turning anyone!

I have looked on most main stream outlets and I don't see a blockbuster story as set out above. I did not read every little story but if the above was out as set out I would think CNN would have it in one inch bold on their site.

Here is a search that returns a bunch of sources about the report. I have no idea what they might contain as I have not read any of them.

    Thanks Mike.

A brief review reveals this about the report.

Lawmakers and aides who wrote the report cautioned ahead of time that it would contain NO MEANINGFUL NEW EVIDENCE of coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign but rather would add details to the already vivid web of contacts between the two worlds. Emphasis added

Yes, I can. Yesterday the co-chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Lindsey Graham, went on the Maria Bartiromo Show on Fox Business and showed previously secret FBI/DOJ documents proving the double standard of the Comey operations differing between their investigations of Clinton versus Trump. Graham went on to explain (watch on the video below, if you dare) that Hillary announced her run for the presidency in the middle of April 2015, but prior to that date in March of the year the FBI came into information that “a foreign country” was trying to laundry money (illegal) into her campaign through one of Clinton’s campaign aides who had a relationship with the country. The FBI investigators wanted to investigate by obtaining FISA search warrants, but were specifically stopped and told by superiors to first warn Hillary of the efforts, which they did.

Contrast that action with next year in 2016 when Comey and the FBI opened four different investigations of Trump people, which ultimately led to the debacles of the Mueller torturous investigations resulting in giant nothing burgers, yet no similar warnings to Trump were ever issued so that he could deal with them preemptively as Hillary was invited to do.

And btw, if you and your friends cannot show one single vote changed by Russian interference, then all this hullabaloo is meaningless...it is just Russians being Russians in the same way they have for decades mucking around in our business and will dot his year as the Chi-Com’s are also doing.

That is lame Joe, just who do you think is going to stand up and say the Russians made me do it.
Go back four years and see how many of the stolen documents were discussed right here and used to support voting for trump.

Did it change your vote no, did it give you material to support your position, with out question.

If whomever passed those emails to Wikileaks had told lies, you might have a good case, but they weren’t lies and there are no Trump fingerprints on them despite the most exhaustive investigation in the history of investigations. Suspicion would point to the Russians, but the case(s) put forth by the DOJ of them being the culprits stink.
