    Iowa 80.. after I posted, I see.. spousal unit would not leave her baby unattended in a parking lot.. put don’t miss a tenderloin sandwich carry out...

    My records with the 5er was 800 miles and I was whooped.. I-85 VA-NC line to West Memphis AR..

    Had a camping buddy with a gooseneck trailer with a camper in the front third.. was a beautiful rig.. (not my $$$)

    We'd stop about every 2-3 hr and check on them when we brought them from WA to AZ years ago. More of a stop for us as well. Every other time we find a spot to pull off and bring them out of the trailer and walk them around, etc... Had the foam mat also on the floor. Some places in Utah we'd ask if they could be on the grassy area around the stations and a few said yes and even came out and talked a bit. That was back in 2000 though.

    There is no way I can do a trip like that. My max time behind the wheel towing my 41' 5th wheel is 4 hours. Anything more than that kills me.

    Well our part of the competition is finished. Ruth took 9th place in the USEF Intermediare 1 National Championships against the top professional riders in the USA.     Just finished my pre trip on the truck and trailer. Truck was fine. Trailer tires needed some pressure adjustment.
