The storage was not watched or mongered.

This Italian explosives expert says he doubts that Ammonium Nitrate was the major cause of the Explosion because when Ammonium Nitrate explodes, it produces a yellow cloud, but the cloud here was dark reddish orange. He goes on to say that is indicative of lithium, which is used in military grade ordinance such as that often stored in Lebanon by Hezbollah and Iran.

I guess I'm a conspiracist now, because that sounds more plausible than a warehouse full of fertilizer.

When the SS Grandcamp and its cargo of 2300 tons of ammonium nitrate fertilizer detonated in Texas City, my Mom said she not only heard it, but it rattled her windows 40 miles away in Galena Park...A then almost 3 month old Truckman reportedly slept through the incident......Ben

That is exactly what happened at the West Fertilizer plant near Waco, and it was detonated by a fire.
I have a fair amount of experience with ANFO, the commercial explosive made from ammonium nitrate and diesel fuel. Most of what we used was mixed immediately before loading a hole--it was essentially a continuous process. However, ANFO is relatively stable, it needs a pretty heavy shock to detonate--a normal blasting cap will not do it. We used to use dynamite to detonate it. I don't recall the color of the smoke.
I would expect that you used ANFO as well.
Regarding Beirut, it seems to have substantial documentation to support the cargo being ammonium nitrate. Interestingly enough, the ship that brought it there, only because it needed repairs on the way to Africa, was abandoned by the crew and owners, today is sunk in the harbor.

I am unaware of bulk mixed anfo being commercially available. I have never seen it when it wasn't mixed on-site. I'm still not worried about the bag of fertilizer in my shed going off. Should I be?

No, I don't think so but I am not sure of the "mechanics" of the Waco and possibly this incident.
I find it hard to say it can't happen as claimed.
I have several pounds of Tannerite in my garage. That makes me a little nervous. I know they say it's safe, but still.

I don't know much about Tennerite.
I do know that products containing nitro glycerin (ie dynamite) can become more unstable as they age. However, I don't believe Tennerite is in that group.

This just seen in the WSJ:
The person briefed on the Lebanese military investigation said that members of Lebanon’s top security agency, the General Security, became aware of the ammonium nitrate last month and wrote a letter to the authorities on July 20, requesting that it be secured.
Mr. Diab received the document on July 20, according to one of his advisers. On July 22, Mr. Diab sent it to Lebanon’s Supreme Defense Council for comment. Mr. Diab discussed the issue with officials on the day of the blast, according to the adviser.
On the day of the explosion, port workers were sent to carry out the welding on the warehouse to secure the facility, according to the prime minister’s adviser and the person briefed on the investigation. The works are then suspected to have ignited confiscated fireworks or ammunition nearby, the person said.

I read an article last week that explained that the head of the port authority had written a series of 6 formal letters over the 7 years he was over its retention to the Lebanese court in charge of the confiscated AN pleading for an order to get rid of the stuff because of the danger. Not a peep from the court. Next, I read where they had arrested a bunch of port personnel. What are the odds that the author of the letters was one of those arrested?
