    True Story

    A relative of mine lived in Florida for about five years. He has been back in Alabama for about 3 years. He got a text from the State of Florida voting department or whatever you call them telling him voting by mail is simple and easy and provided a link in the text on how to do it. For kicks and giggles he punched the link and was signed up to receive a Florida mail in ballot AT HIS ALABAMA address. Now he will throw it away when he gets it but this is the type of crap we get when we go down this road. I hope this is an isolated situation.

    Florida is almost as bad as Arizona. We simply can not get voting right.

    Be careful there. My oldest son wrote the election manual for the Secretary of State last year. Hopefully it will be clarified and easier.

    For us , Virginia, there is one more step.. he would not receive a ballot, he would receive an application for a ballot. An application for a ballot requires that you provide a Virginia drivers license/ state ID card number.

    I’m sure that you can vote even if you don’t have a drivers license/DMV ID number.. but it isn’t real simple anymore.

    And if you are snow birding in Florida or Texas, they will mail the application there.
