    R.I.P. Ennio Morricone...

Died following a fall and a broken leg at the age of 91...He scored a lot of my favorite movies...Below is one of the most recognizable musical pieces anywhere, as performed by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sarah Hicks...I often wondered what instruments were used to produce the unique sounds in his compositions...The video reveals a few of those...One of the featured vocalists, the one with the pistolero earrings is Tuva Semmingsen, forever after known as the wah-wah woman...It's clear the entire orchestra had a lot of fun with this performance...

    Rest in peace, Signor Morricone......Ben

Oh, yeah, how much fun was that? Did I catch a glimpse of a man figure hanging from the ceiling in a suit? What is that all about?

Just a part of the Danish idea of western symbolism I think...You'll find a lot of the band members had cowboy hats and other accouterments that they associated with westerns...I think they had a blast at this performance...Here's another from the same source, again with vocalist Tuva Semmingsen......Ben

She is a fine whistler and a real test for a whistler is doing it for an audience.
I am a talented whistler (as I think I have mentioned before), but I have found that whistling for an audience is tough, especially if you become amused or anything which distorts the whistler’s face muscles. Smile, and it is all over. She would be required to maintain a deadpan composure in this music, which is a bit silly if you think about it.

Btw, she is the first woman whistler I have ever heard. Don’t know why that is.
