Really? Remove "whitening", "lightening" and More Words From Beauty Products?

The world has lost its collective mind!

Industry-leading French cosmetics company L'Oreal announced they will be removing words like "whitening" and "lightening" from their products after a number of beauty brands received backlash for their skin-lightening products amidst ongoing protests for racial equality.
"The L'Oreal Group has decided to remove the words white/whitening, fair/fairness, light/lightening from all its skin evening products," the company said in a statement.

So how will the black community react when they are told by the gay population that their hair "straightening" products must be renamed because it's insensitive toward the LBGTQU movement?......Ben

Drugstore chains Walgreens and CVS Health have announced that they will stop locking up beauty and hair care products aimed at black women and other women of color, joining Walmart in ending a practice at some stores that has drawn the ire of customers.

I wonder why all these mass retailers came to the same prior conclusion that products aimed at black customers were more susceptible to theft and needed discriminatory protections? It could not possibly be as a result of experience in loss control and must be...wait for it...racism!

More “word insanity” as the Houston Association Of Realtors puts the kibosh on “Master Bedrooms” as a descriptor in favor of “Primary Bedroom” for fear that the mere mention of the word “master” will trigger someone. My guess is they fear they are encouraging too much masturbation.

Racist or not, I will continue to buy whitening tooth paste.

    I just use hydrogen peroxide as a pre-rinse before brushing...At 89˘ a bottle versus $4.55 a bottle for the cheapest namebrand, it's a no-brainer for me...It even tastes the same......Ben

I got popped in the mouth once and had to rinse my mouth with peroxide for a couple weeks.

Tooth paste is the only whitening product I think I use anymore? I switched to colored undies years ago, and I don't wear white shirts anymore since I retired, so I wouldn't mind if my laundry detergent turns everything a soft shade of tan. Beats the polka dots I wear now.

Hydrogen peroxide appears to be the active ingredient in tooth whitening products (or "toof whiter stuff" for our Arkansan readers......Ben

I decided to tackle my first "european" mount for my last elk. Besides being a complete PITA (and ), I got a lesson in peroxide. If you want the good stuff, you need to go to the beauty supply store and buy the goopy concentrate. Right sistas?

Got no clue on that...I buy the 3% version off the HEB shelf...I also use it in minor cuts and scrapes...I can watch it foam in the injury, so I know something is happening, and it doesn't sting like alcohol...I also use a capful in my ears periodically to help with my ever-increasing deafness......Ben
