    Race Riots

Has anyone else noticed that virtually none of the current race riots are taking place in the southern states where most of the past and current racial atrocities allegedly took/take place? Why is that? Could it be that northerners are not as squeaky clean and pure as they would have us believe? The worst racist I have ever known was from New Jersey.

There was a statement made here recently to the effect that southern blacks are docile unless someone from the outside stirs them up----that is a telling statement. Could it be that southern blacks "know their place"?

I'd have to say I doubt that is the case, Dave. I suspect southern blacks are just as likely to stand up for their rights as anyone and rightfully so.

I asked the question in all seriousness and do not intend to be derisive of northerners. I am really curious about why this is happening the way it is.

I took it as serious, as was my response. I could be wrong in my thought.

Many of the past riots have been in CA, primarily LA and Oakland. How do you classify CA?

I could ask the same question of Mo---but that would risk having to fight the civil war all over again

Let me add that I am not trying to protect the north here---I have no skin in this game.

It looks to me that the BLM movement was started by avowed Marxist rabble-rousers and has attracted as many or more disaffected whites as repressed or angry blacks. Relatively few people white, black or brown in the South brook Marxists, while the North, and especially the Left Coast loves that crap. Black and ethnic grievance is a vehicle for Marxist discord used for a century to break a society and take over. We should not forget that the BLM protests that turn into riots and orgies of thievery/arson are all done in municipalities whose elected leaders turn a blind eye or openly encourage it. Very few of those type “leaders” in the South, but there are a few. There are some enclaves of “Progressivism” in the South - increasing with the migration of people bring their affliction with them. Expect to see BLM mayhem there, such as in in Austin, Charlestown and Atlanta.

The most overtly racist City that I've ever been in was Boston. I have never noticed racism overtly in California, Texas, Arizona, Utah and many other states. The meanest most nasty people I've ever been around was in Philadelphia. Those people just seem to be unhappy from the clerks at the hotel to the cab drivers to the people that work at all the national monuments in that City. Never understood why it was called the City of Brotherly Love.

That's the kind of ignorant speak that gets all the crap started. Northerners are far more superior then us stupid hillbilly's or so they think and they do tend to run their mouth a lot, i think that's
    one of the biggest reasons.

Just for clarification, when I say "northern" I am referring to pretty much everything outside of the old south. Not the proper terminology, I know. I guess I should have said "everywhere other than the old south" in my first post.

Just a thought I think it is not as prevalent in the south because we saw the strife and the violence first hand in our streets and we did not want to go back to that and built a mutual respect for each other. Am I saying racism does happen in the south? Of course not. But I am saying that the only time I hear the "N" word is when I hear it in songs or from one AA to another. We open doors for each other, we say hello and we work together. We say yes mam and yes sir to every race. As was stated earlier that "black people know their place" in the south is spoken in the true spirit of north eastern elitism. I am proud of the strides we have made since Bull Conner and fire hoses. Come visit sometime you will find that "southern hospitality" is not a myth.

That's pretty much the take I have, Tom. We show respect for other races whether or not it is heartfelt. I always hold the door and let others go first regardless of the race.

I agree...I'll add that I seem to receive the same respect and courtesy I dish out...When I fail to get a thank you, a smile or a nod of the head, I don't take it personally or as a sign of contempt...Cursing, rioting and looting won't fix the weakness found in others...Justice only enters clear heads......Ben

I grew up in Ohio, the North. I live in Kentucky, which is considered Northern South. I see far more Confederate Flags and racist symbols when I travel home to Ohio and Indiana than I ever do in Kentucky or Tennessee. Racism is far more overt in the North nowadays, imo. And I suggest if you actually think Southern African Americans are "docile" you should travel to Atlanta and ask them why face to face.
