    Don't Mess With The Alamo

Apparently some of these idiot criminal demonstrators have decided to target the Alamo. That would be a really bad decision on their part and blood will run in the streets should they follow through on the threat. Texans everywhere will defend the Alamo from all transgressions. You just don't mess with it!

Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, responding to rumors that protesters were looking to target the Alamo, had a clear warning for anyone who might be considering causing damage to the historical San Antonio site.

    [snip]

"The Alamo is the Shrine of Texas Liberty. And it will be defended," Bush said, adding that his office was monitoring the situation. "Rest assured we have already deployed, for several weeks and will continue to do so, the Alamo Rangers in partnership with SAPD, the Department of Public Safety and The National Guard to protect this sacred site. My message to the protesters is simple: Don't Mess with The Alamo."

No, you really don't. We are already close to a race war and this could be the ignition point should it happen. Outsiders cannot understand how much the Alamo means to Texans. We will not allow it be desecrated and anyone who attempts it is a damned fool who just might have breathed their last breath.

Might as well get it over with, their list of gimme's is already out of hand. There are at least three police done with guilty or otherwise. Pretty soon we won't be to arrest them either. Speaking of pretty soon, we're going to run out of police. They didn't hire on to be baby sitters and face life in prison every time they make an arrest.

I would rather see a 90° turn instead, as a 180° would take them to the opposite extreme...In other words, just report the facts, I'll make up my own mind what they mean......Ben

The first time I saw the Alamo, I was struck by how small it is. I expected something bigger. No offense intended, just an observation.

I can hear the people in Austin explaining to the rest of the burn-the-place-down-patriots what a bad idea it would be.

It's never the size, it's what you do with it......Ben

That's because what you see today is just a small portion of the compound that existed in 1836.
