What’s With Lackawanna County’s “Old Forge Style Pizza,” Dave?

It’s called “The Pizza Capital Of The World.” The photos in the piece don’t even look that good, so whatzup wid dat?

Like its Sicilian cousins, Old Forge style is baked in trays, and unlike its New York neighbors to the east, the individual servings are called ‘cuts’ instead of ‘slices.’ But Grandma Ghigiarelli is just the beginning of the story. Since her famous beginnings, Old Forge style pizzerias have exploded across the county. Today, there are more than 150 pizzerias in the county alone, and nine within Old Forge itself serving up the famous trays...

If I had a Merc Landyacht, lived a couple hours away and needed to enjoy the economy opening up again, I might consider taking in some touted pizza in my state just for research purposes. Shoot, I take a road trip to Austin up the road often just for Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken in my beat up old ford truck!

On edit: I lapsed for a minute and realized your wife is having a bad time, so road trips will have to wait for better times, which I trust will come. Look forward to a report then.

Yes - Definitely road trip material there.

Joe's reminder about the health of Dave's wife stings. May better times be ahead.
