    Now this is funny

...I don't care who you are

Could anyone tell me the intended purpose of this stunt?

Not a clue. I read somewhere it was Ivanka pushing it. What I do know is it is not right to gas a bunch of legally assembled protestors in order to take the photo.

Faux news...there was no gas. They did in fact move back a crowd that the night before injured 58 security personnel throwing bricks and what not even though they were peaceful appearing in the daylight. Does anyone here think the President of the United States should not be able to walk across the street to a church that had been attacked and should not have a safe, clear path separate from the crowd who hours before viciously and cowardly attacked his security detail?

It was a photo op that failed except to put an end to the “Trump hiding in a bunker meme.” Odd though that those poking fun at the misplaced attempt at some appearance of normalcy never uttered a word of consternation or even mentioned that it was intended to draw a comparison with and focus against the heinous attack trying to burn down a symbolic church by his opponents.

Joe your willingness to dismiss all and any possible wrongs on the part of your anointed is disappointing.

Wrong Dave. I like a guy that swallows everything Der Trump says. No thinking has to be explained to the rest of us.

I admit I was wrong...the “peaceful protestors” only injured 51 security personnel the night before with a barrage of bricks, frozen water bottles and caustic liquids instead of the 58 number I misremembered. Still, it was bad ju-ju to feed a ravenously anything-but-Trump-even-a-ChiCom-shill media.

I've been reading some editorials from Conservative sources who consider this failed photo op to be the capstone of a failed presidency. It could be possible - for on the same date, national polls were showing Biden winning the Electoral College this go-around.

Personally, I think we could see something amazing happen. Will Trump recognize an election he loses as legitimate? I don't think we've ever had a President who refused to vacate the White House.

That is absurd and a meme the D’rats have been trolling around for months now without any recollection of Hillary trying a variation asking if candidate Trump would accede to his defeat in the coming election only to be the one who has never acknowledged her legitimate thumping to this day and sicced a host of her swamp warriors to try to delegitimize the actual elected president.

I will remind you sir that who was there the night before and who was there at the "walk" could be entirely different people.

I will also remind you that the participants that were assembled to accompany trump have not been universally approving either.

Once again you remind me of a cat trying to cover chit on a tin roof

So maybe the people who burned a landmark church and attacked White House Security weren’t within arms reach of the President, so security should just go with that, eh? Riiight...

No it was not following the Constitution about right of peaceful assembly. Even the top military commander flaked out of the photo op after realizing he fu.

A lot of soul searching for what is right about the constitution, maybe more for those 2nd amendment guys to think about the first.
