I did notice you also comment on possible financial interest by the Trump family in the drug..........or not??????

Don't care what he takes. If there's a side effect it's on him.

According to Nurse Spouse and her Nurse buddies... the problem is that the drug is needed by Lupus and Malaria patients.. needed.. so If a bunch of copy cat wannabes finagle prescriptions.. will that create a shortage (already tight supply) For the actual sick people that need the drug..

Just passing along an opinion.. we could be wrong..

It is ubiquitous in malaria infested regions of the world, which is why the Administration wrangled millions of doses from India, when it was first talked about in the WuFlu context. I do not think the drug is rare, although I have not asked my pharmacist about availability, as I said I would. I’ll put it on the to-do list.

I listened to a longe-term Lupus patient explain on a radio show about her use of the drug for the last 10 years commenting on its safety record, but she said nothing about constricted availability. That possible aspect was not mentioned.

Just googled “ Hydroxychloroquine shortage”.. no shortage of articles stating concern..

I’m just relaying what the nurses are talking about..

Also.. the concern of a shortage has been on the Sunday Morning talk shows for weeks..

Not to be a cynic about the man----but why would anyone choose to believe his claim---if he says "it" that automatically classifies "it" as highly doubtful

The sadder issue is that now hordes of trump cultists are trying to get their hands on the stuff so they can take it----a little like the Kool-Aid at Jonestown

I agree with Dave, just because he said he is taking it does not mean he actually is...

Oh, Yee, of little faith...and those with a mild case of ZiFlu with some faith might have a load of placebo effect.

Latest study finds that proper doses of HCQ in early stage WuFlu cases result in reduction of death of patients by 50%. There were zero detected bad side effects, including heart issues. If me or mine contract the disease Zi sent us, I will demand hydroxychloroquine immediately. As far as I am concerned, you would have to be a fool not to do so. Fortunately, I know a doctor who has it in his inventory of drugs the last I talked to him about it.

I don't believe the study even if Trump, who is not trained in medicine, eats it for breakfast.

There have been so many other studies finding just the opposite that I would refuse the drug. Especially since it is possibly a trigger for arrhythmia which I already suffer.

Are you aware that the previous major study of HCQ, which cast the previous major doubt on the efficacy and safety of the drug was withdrawn by the authors because of discovery of fraud in the data they used, which was collected by a previously unknown and vetted mysterious group? Left behind are unfounded doubts by people who did not get the news that the study was crap.

I’m hoping to never join a study...but should I require a choice, it seems the vagaries of heart complications from the drug, even for myself with my list of past heart issues, would be a far less gamble than trying to dodge death from the virus straight up at my age and with my medical conditions. Interestingly, this latest study found better efficacy for those taking only HCQ solely and without the added antibiotic, which is the major offender from heart complications as well.

I volunteered for one in May at my eye doctor because I'd not be required to cough up my usual copay plus they said I'd be paid $75 per visit...The copay part was true but so far they've reneged on the promised pay...No harmful effects from the research material though......Ben
