    COVID Zombies

That's what I call them. In the mornings when I go for a ride these days I stay off the mountains and am riding the bike paths and green belts (no insurance and the last place I want to end up is in an ER these days) and can not believe the number of people walking, jogging and riding bikes (wish I had opened a bike shop a couple months ago, they can not keep sub $800.00 bikes in stock they are selling so fast).

You can tell that a vast majority of them have never exercised before and are just out due to boredom.

What's it like in your area?

    Strange days.

Don't go out much but when I have I can't miss the number of people both biking and walking (more walking than jogging). Since we live in a rural area all that activity takes place in or by the paved roadway. By the "gear" it seems most are new to the activity---they haven't fully accessorized as yet. Having been one of them in my biking days I have no problem with it in general---but I do have one particular concern. People walking with pets (who are also new to this) seem to forget they have an animal to both protect and manage. That little item occasionally gets missed and that can cause a real problem for drivers.

Other than expanding my walking routes to include new prospective PM sources, and being denied entrance into fast food joints and truck accessory stores (which probably improve my health and financial outlook) nothing much has changed...Women have always "socially distanced" themselves from me, and now they have a mandated excuse...Like Phillbo, I see a great deal more people out walking, running and riding bicycles and such, some with masks and gloves, some not...I'm sure many think I have a death wish of some kind for dumpster diving in these trying times without even a mask, but I just don't worry about it...

I'm now walking between 3 and 8 miles a day, and toting home more weight than when I started, but also losing some of the acquired weight around my middle as well as gaining more of a tan...Yesterday I got home with 4 full sacks of PM which I carried over six miles, and I was pretty well beat after flattening and resacking them, but when I started walking last year, a quarter mile unburdened wore me out...I notice a lot more people who see me on a regular basis are starting conversations now, albeit at a distance...However I'm really ready for the restrictions on gun shows, car shows and air shows to go away...

I found out that this new-fangled IPhone thingy has been counting my steps and mileage since I got it...All I had to do was add on an application to be able to read the data...Apparently I was a real slug before entering the PM industry......Ben

Our local CAF is doing a War Bird fly over of all the hospitals in the area tomorrow. I'm going to try to catch it.

Last week Luke AFB did the same with a dozen F35's, F15's and a KC135.. It was cool to see.

Its a bit ironic. It took the government telling people to stay home and shelter in place for them get out and exercise.

They're doing the same thing in Houston tomorrow commencing and recovering at Ellington Field...I won't be able to see it from here, and like a big dummy I wasn't outside to see the Angels flyover yesterday...But I've seen them all many times in the past, and there's always a video camera around......Ben

New statistics compiled in New York indicate being cooped up in our rooms is the worst place to be to avoid the XiFlu...even Cuomo was astounded.

And we have a BINGO, my friends.

When my wife and I do errands in our vehicles we see many more people than we expect to see.

However, our resident gentleman cattle rancher may be able to see it from his house if he's in his city home this Sunday...Heads up, Mike, the schedule has changed and the flight may be visible to you in the southwest sky around 14:00 to 14:15......Ben
