    Ford Excursion Could Return

Ford Excursion Exhumed? Ford Just Applied for the Trademark

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/news...?ocid=msedgdhp

And - why does Hunter care about a vehicle Ford abandoned? It's how I met one of the best groups of people I now call friends - the members of this site. We all met Mike and Ben (and others we know) over at the Ford TD website. We found ourselves in deep discussions about firearms - and about whether or not we should carry them. Mike was wise to start this site when it looked like the Ford site would shut down political discussion. Many of us followed Mike here - and good results ensued.

So, how much do we spar over gun rights? Not very often. I think we all expressed our positions, as well as many other things. My friends are just as adamant about protecting gun rights as ever. More importantly, they caused my position to shift more to the Right. I'm now a laisse-fair supporter of gun rights for all citizens. If the courts deem it legal - I do too.

I've listened to that YouTube guy named Truckman talk about guns and gun rights for years. And, I've decided he's right. I've even met him once, during a particularly bleak Winter, when he was here for a conference in Salt Lake City. Those were good days, and I miss them.

Any other stories we need to hear about why YOU are here?

    Thank you,
    Hunter

I also migrated here from the Ford site, with a side trip to the Dodge diesel site, following which I traded my one-and-only Ford product in on my third (of five so far) MoPar products, the powerful and reliable Dodge/Cummins combination...That Dodge site remains the only other forum to which I contribute, and the only one in which my membership time exceeds the time in which I have been tolerated here, although my post count there is still far below four figures, and here it is, well - you know...

I was told about this site while behind the counter of a particular gun store by a fellow named Curtis, who also assumes the nom de plume, Gitchesum in some circles...I decided to look in on his recommendation, and now you goobers are stuck with me...At least now you know who to blame...

At least maybe Joe will get a second chance at an Excursion that maybe he can hang onto...

As for that snakeoil peddler Hunter was waxing poetic over, what was his name, Truckman?...The guy is obviously a flash in the pan whose words are forgotten almost the moment they leave his keyboard......Ben

My 6.0 Excursion was the worst nightmare I have ever owned. Probably had 8 or ten cars and trucks since then, not one Ford among them.

That's not good news about your Ex, Honda.

Heck, my PSD Ex will probably go down historically as a great vehicle. I regularly got 19 MPG with a 40 gallon fuel tank - which gave the Ex fantastic range. And, the weight of the vehicle and 4x4 ability made it excellent in the snow and ice. The only vice I had was I had to clear out my garage in order to park it inside.

The suspension of my 2000 7.3 had hardly an inch of travel before it hit the bump stops. Other than that, it was a fine multipurpose hawler. Don’t know about the suspension of the recent Heavy Duty Fords, but hopefully they changed that fault.

Incidentally, Hunter, your boy, Joe Biden, has promised to put Beto O’Roarke in charge of his gun confiscation policy.

I really have no memory of how I ended up over here. I was on a couple of the Diesel Truck sites so perhaps that was it. I do remember this one guy. real name was Gary. Lived in the Bay area he had a most distinctive handle that no one dare utter lest he return, real piece of work.

Thats him and it could be Brian... I have tried my best to scrub him from my brain. I had the actually misfortune of meeting him in person in 2003 or 4

shize the handle came back to me similar to the plastic used to fill dents in cheap cars curse you Ben

I was just thinking back about him he used to drive those guys crazy over at the diesel stop. One of his most hilarious post was about greasing your balls. As I recall the place was heavily moderated and they came to jump on him and he defended himself strongly by saying he was only talkin about whether you should grease your balls instead of leaving your balls dry when towing. I don't know if it is myself or him or several others it drove those folks crazy. Those were some fun times.

I remember the first Excursion I ever saw, it made such an impression on me. I had owned several Suburbans over the decades before, but I was struck at how big the Ex was in comparison. I remember thinking, “What the hell is that! I gotta have one of those things.” Garish size and excess appeals to me at some level.

I stumbled on our previous "home"--I have no recollection of how.

It was shortly after I got my first 7.3 SD, a 1999.5, to replace my F-250 of the time with a 351 gas engine. I still have that truck. It is in the barn with the batteries pulled. It has almost 200,00 miles on it. It underwent a frame off restoration a few years ago but no engine work to date. It has been as far north as one can drive in both the US and Canada, as far East as one can drive in both the US and Canada, as far west as one can drive in the US and as far south as one can drive in the US.
It also brought me here when things were getting uncomfortable at the old place---and for that I owe my friend Mike a boat load of gratitude
