    1921 Tulsa Oklahoma Race Massacre

Damn, but we have an ugly past!

During the Tulsa Race Massacre (also known as the Tulsa Race Riot), which occurred over 18 hours on May 31-June 1, 1921, a white mob attacked residents, homes and businesses in the predominantly black Greenwood neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event remains one of the worst incidents of racial violence in U.S. history, and one of the least-known: News reports were largely squelched, despite the fact that hundreds of people were killed and thousands left homeless.

I just recently became aware of this--possibly I saw it on the History Channel, it is a very black time in our history that seems to fall victim to a (may I say this) a white cover up.

There was a show on HBO just recently called "watchmen" that is somehow about this. I think there may be a comic book or superhero or something about also. That was the first time I remember hearing about it.

I'm not saying I wasn't taught it either. I didn't start paying attention to skool until it mattered. I don't pay very close attention to the tv either.
