My daughter suffered from a gunshot wound to her lung and was on a ventilator for 12 weeks. Nice on a ventilator, it can be excruciatingly hard to ween the patient off them...at least it was in my daughter’s case. F that pattern is anything like treatment for this flu, then it makes availability of the machines even more stressed.

13 years ago we hired a company to build us ventilators that ended up being bought out probably because of the government contract, that fell through after no telling how much money and no delivery of any ventilators. Six years later we hired another company to build us ventilators but they were not approved until last year, but alas they haven't delivered any yet. In what company in any place in the world can business be done like it is done by the most powerful nation in the world. Good thing we didn't have this bunch of yahoos looking out for us when Japan bombed pearl harbor or we'd be speaking German or Japanese.
